Fun, funky, formal princess ball honors everyday women
The first of what's planned to be an annual event proclaiming princess status for women was held recently at a Lewisburg church on the bypass.
"This Funky Formal was devised as a way to honor the Lord because our Father is the king and to remind us that our ladies are princesses," event spokeswoman Karen Ellis said.
Women do so much more than handle what everyday life throws at them, Ellis said.
"This was not just for LifeSong Family Church members," she said. "Invitations went out to many people and attendance was anticipated at 150."
Valet parking was provided for the ladies when they arrived and they were escorted into the church sanctuary that was transformed into a formal ballroom suitable for a banquet, after dinner speakers and music into the night.
When the ladies stepped into the room, they were announced. For example, their escort would speak up and say: "This is Princess Dana."
The evening was deemed a success as it praised women's service in life and for the Lord.
