Danny Joe Tucker, 52, of Cornersville, formerly of Cullman, Ala., passed away Monday, March 7, 2011, at Cullman Regional Medical Center.
Mr. Tucker served his country for 12 years in the U. S. Navy, serving on the USS Kitty Hawk, which was at sea for many months. He served in and survived Operation Desert Storm. Danny was the youngest person ever to make Chief Petty Officer at Charleston Naval Base. Danny was a wonderful son, brother, father, and grandfather, and was also a dear friend to many. He was an avid sports fan and Tide Booster.
He was preceded in death by his father, Bobby Joe Tucker; former wife, Anita Tucker; and a brother-in-law, Tom McNiff.
He is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Ann Lee Tucker of Trussville, Ala.; son, Daniel Tucker of Cornersville; daughter, Amber (Jason) Howard of Cullman; brother, Jason (Candie) Tucker of Cullman; sisters, Becky McNiff of Lewisburg, Jennifer (Tony) Gilbert of Mobile, Ala., and Ellen Tucker of Cullman; two grandchildren, Brody Lee Howard and Emma Grace Howard; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Funeral services were conducted Thursday, March 10, at Cullman Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jonathan Hunter officiating, followed by interment in Center Point Baptist Cemetery.
The pallbearers were Alan Scott, Tim Scott, Taylor Tucker, Dekota Edwards, Kenny Thomas, and John Harger.
