Obituary: William Howard Gentry
We regret to inform you that William Howard Gentry, 67, died Tuesday, March 29, 2011, at Maury Regional Medical Center. He was the son of the late Howard and Dovie Mai Gentry.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his sisters, Bettye Flowers, Evelyn Cleveland and Barbara Turner.
He was baptized at an early age and became a member First Baptist Church and soon became a young Deacon. He worked at ICP as well as Marshall Recreation Center. He coached the ICP Little League baseball team for more than 20 years.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Annette Gentry; two sons, Marichel Gentry of New Haven, Conn. and Terry Gentry of Murfreesboro; two grandchildren, Taylor and O'Brien; three sisters, Sarah Crutcher of Nashville, Elizabeth Maxwell of Churchill, Tenn., and Pat Braden, and one brother, Joe Lewis Gentry, both of Lewisburg; his brother-in-law Frank Evans and his sister-in-law Rosetta Evans of New Brighton, Pa,; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Visitation will be held from noon until 1 p.m. Saturday, April 2. Funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. at Greater First Baptist Church, Pastor William H. Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Gentry Cemetery.
