Marshall County veterinarians will offer rabies vaccinations at the reduced rate of $8 for the month of April. Tennessee law requires all cats and dogs three months of age and older to be vaccinated against rabies by a licensed veterinarian. There have already been three cases of rabies confirmed in Marshall County this year.

The Marshall County Education Association is offering a $1,000 scholarship for college juniors and seniors who are majoring in education and plan to teach. Applicant must be a graduate of one of Marshall County's high schools. Applications are available at the high school guidance offices and the Marshall County Memorial Library. Deadline: May 1.

May 1 is the deadline to sign up for the Senior Citizens day trip to Fontanel Mansion and Farm on June 9. Visit the Senior Center office at 230 College St, Lewisburg, to sign up and get details.

A meeting of the South Central Tennessee Workforce Board Local Workforce Investment Area Ten (LWIA 10) will be held at 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 13, at the Tennessee Career Center, 702 Mahr Ave., Lawrenceburg.

The Alzheimer's Association Marshall County Caregiver Support Group will meet at noon Thursday, April 14, at the Senior Citizens Center, 230 College St, Lewisburg. The group is free of charge and can be beneficial to anyone caring for a loved one suffering with memory impairment and confusion.
