LifeSong launches church in Shelbyville
LifeSong Family Church is growing again, this time with the merger of a church in Shelbyville, according to the pastor of the congregation meeting at their church on South Ellington Parkway.
New Harvest Kingdom Ministries, 2011 South Canon Blvd., next to the Armory in Shelbyville, with the Rev. Randy Williams, has been re-launched as LifeSong Church of Shelbyville, according to the Rev. Rocky Cunningham.
"We've got a great campus over here," Cunningham said by mobile phone on Monday. "The Bedford County Head Start program utilizes the building five days a week."
A new sign at the church was posted about May 1 at the church building that has some 20,000 square feet on 10 acres.
To introduce the LifeSong ministries to Shelbyville and Bedford County, the merged church will have a second church service Sunday May 22 at 3 p.m. Regular Sunday services are at 10:30 a.m.
The LifeSong Church of Shelbyville has about 115 members. The LifeSong Family Church in Lewisburg traces its origins to the First Church of God, established here in the mid-1940s. In the 1960s, that church moved to the current location on Ellington Parkway. About five years ago that Church of God continued its affiliation with its denomination, but became the LifeSong Family Church.
In August of 2009, LifeSong established a church in Chapel Hill and Cunningham says the church still plans to open churches in Columbia, Pulaski and Fayetteville in the next three years.
