Ruby Ladd Curtis, 75, retired supervisor at Cosmolab and resident of Pulaski Highway, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
Mrs. Curtis was born in Maury County on Dec. 14, 1935, to the late Thomas Newton Ladd and Jessie Ophelia Whitaker Ladd. She was a 1954 graduate of Santa Fe High School and a former long-time resident of Lewisburg. She was married to George Edward Curtis who preceded her in death on March 1, 1987. Mrs. Curtis was a member of Northside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her sister, Doris (James) Cranford of Columbia; sister-in-law, Dorothy Ladd of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Charles (Carol) Murphy, Tom (Jennifer) Murphy, Bonnie (John) Chadwell, and Debbie Alley all of Columbia, Susan (Mike) Fitzgerald of Virginia, Melinda (Curly) Bradford of Lewisburg and Shane Bradford of Columbia; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by a brother, William Newton "Billy" Ladd, and two sisters, Ruth Ladd Smith and Janie Ladd Parrish.
A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, May 14, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Ron Gleaves officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday after 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
Honorary pallbearers will be members of Santa Fe Class of 1954. Special thanks from the family to Dr. Gibran Naddy and Samantha Staggs.
