With quick work by deputies and cooperation from a neighboring county, three suspects were arrested in Smyrna and brought back to Marshall County to face charges of aggravated burglary and aggravated assault.
According to Sheriff Norman Dalton, his department was notified on May 8 of a burglary in progress at a home on Kenny Nelson Road.
The homeowner caught two people coming out of the house, and one of them was carrying her television, according to a press release. When confronted, the suspect carrying the TV dropped it and ran, while the other drew a gun on the woman and her father and walked to a waiting car.
Dep-uties got a description and tag number of the car and issued an area-wide request asking law enforcement officers to "be on the look out" for the suspects. That was soon answered by the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department. Its deputies had stopped a car matching the description. The driver was held until Marshall County detectives could arrive.
Kiara T. King, 18, of Smyrna, was taken into custody at the scene.
The next day, detectives arrested Jacobi D. Vaughn Moore, 18, and Mariah J. McCutcheon, 19, both of Smyrna. King and McCutcheon made bond the next day, while Moore remains jailed.
"There will also be a juvenile charged soon," Dalton wrote in the press release. "Other charges will be pending."
