Obituary: Joe Lloyd Darnell

Joe Lloyd Darnell, 73, of Shelbyville, passed away Thursday, May 12, 2011, at his residence after a short illness.

A native of Petersburg, he was the son of the late Sam Darnell and Willie B. McAdams Darnell. He was a life-long farmer, and was a member of East Park Methodist Church.

He is survived by his children, Karen S. Burks and Korona Jacobs, both of Lewisburg, and Joe S. Darnell of Shelbyville; stepchildren, Elizabeth Chapman, Dallas Mitchell, and Russell Winsett, all of Shelbyville; sisters, Erlene Corbin, Ethel Connors, and Ann Miller, all of Lewisburg; three grandchildren; and 12 stepgrandchildren.

Funeral services were held Saturday, May 14, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Randall Harmon officiating, followed by burial in Willow Mount Cemetery.

Doak-Howell Funeral Home of Shelbyville served the family.
