Dorothy Pearl Molder Darnell, 88, of Lewisburg, died Wednesday, May 11, 2011, in Columbia.
Mrs. Darnell was born in Bedford County and was a daughter of the late Arthur Horace and Edith Wortham Molder. She was a homemaker and was also retired from the former Durango Boot Company of Chapel Hill after 23 years of service. Mrs. Darnell was a member of Clay Hill United Methodist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Doyle Vaden Darnell; a daughter, Carolyn Wakefield; son-in-law, Bing Wakefield; sisters, Edna Mae Fagan and Nelda Cook; and by a brother, Claude Molder.
She is survived by her son, Lee Darnell of Lewisburg; sisters, Duane Haskins of Bell Buckle and Helen Molder of Chapel Hill; five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Saturday, May 14, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Larry Chatman officiating, followed by burial in Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill.
Lawrence Funeral Home and Cremation Services was in charge of arrangements.
