The Cornersville High School softball team finished third at the Class A state tournament, losing 3-2 to Chattanooga Grace in the final of the losers' bracket in Murfreesboro.
CHS took a 2-1 lead in the top of the eighth when Makayla Campbell singled home Madilyn Calahan. But Grace (42-8) got a one-out triple and single to tie the game, and Kaitlyn Eldridge hit a two-out single to win the game.
CHS (24-18) won the first two games of the tournament, but lost a 5-4, eight-inning decision to Riverside on Thursday.
