Lewisburg's City Council selected a new treasurer Monday and assigned the city manager to establish her salary during discussions with her this week.

The successful applicant is Donna Park of Cornersville who has; worked for Marshall County's School Board; been active in local sports organizations; and is currently employed in financial work.

Councilmen Odie Whitehead Jr., Robin Minor, Steve Thomas and Hershell Davis voted to hire Park. Councilman Ronald McRady voted to hire Tammy Chunn Bradley of Lewisburg who: majored in accounting at Middle Tennessee State University; worked at the Marshall County Public Library; and is working as an account with a private firm.

Park graduated from Cornersville High School; has a bachelor's degree from Athens State University; and a master's of business administration from Phoenix University.

Dawn Patton of Soddy Daisy was the other of the top three candidates for the position. She was not nominated.

Lewisburg budgeted $60,000 for the new treasurer's position. The job was advertised as paying $55,000 to $70,000.

Park will succeed Connie Edde who served as treasurer and city recorder. She was paid $72,575 annually. Last week the council authorized a consultant position for Edde to help her successor during a transition period.
