Obituary: Elizabeth Evelyn Collins Darnell

Elizabeth Evelyn Collins Darnell, 82, of Lewisburg, passed away on Friday, June 24, 2011, at NHC-Lewisburg.

Mrs. Darnell was a native of Perry County, Ala. and the daughter of the late Wilburn Collins and Gladys Sharp Collins. She was a homemaker and a member of First Baptist Church of Lewisburg.

In addition to her husband, James C. Darnell, and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Billy Jean Hickman; three brothers, Aaron, Hubert, and James "Buddy" Collins; and one grandchild, Tammy Sue Darnell.

She is survived by two sons, James (Sue) Darnell of Columbia and Paul (Debbie) Darnell of Cornersville; and three daughters, Patricia (Dennis) Ring and Glinda Bryant, both of Lewisburg, and Sheila (David) Price of Belfast. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services for Mrs. Darnell were conducted Monday, June 27, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Larry Hastings officiating, followed by burial in Lone Oak Cemetery.
