Applications for the July 4th Baby Contest for ages 0 -- 59 months are available at Village Manor, the Chamber of Commerce and online at www.marshallchamber.org. The Chamber will accept applications up until the day of the contest. The event will be held at the Lewisburg Recreation Center.

Convertibles, and three people to wear costumes, are needed for the Chamber of Commerce's 4th of July parade. If you can help, please call parade chairman Jamie Bone at 359-4243.

New Life Community Church, 1001 Easy St, Lewisburg, is pleased to welcome new minister Kenneth Jones and his wife Sandy. A Grief Support Group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Sunday, July 3, at LifeSong Family Church, 1041 South Ellington Parkway, Lewisburg. Everyone needing support while traveling their journey of grief is encouraged to attend. The group intends to meet the first Sunday night of every month.

The Marshall County Courthouse, Courthouse Annex, and Hardison Office Annex and all City of Lewisburg offices will be closed Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. Garbage routes will run a day behind. The Square will be completely blocked off from 9 to 10:30 a.m. for the Fourth of July parade.

The Chapel Hill and Cornersville Town Hall offices will be closed on Monday, July 4, in observance of Independence Day. The offices will reopen at the usual hour Tuesday, July 5. Chapel Hill garbage will be collected Wednesday, July 6.

Caney Springs Volunteer Fire Department is holding a huge Yard Sale to raise money for the new building fund. It will be at 1224 Nashville Hwy, Lewisburg, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, July 8, and 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, July 9.
