Harold "Bud" Tucker, 87, of Eagleville, died Monday, July 11, 2011, in Murfreesboro.
Mr. Tucker was born in Ft. Worth, Texas, and was a son of the late Winston and Lenora Tucker. He was a graduate of Bethesda High School, Class of 1942. Mr. Tucker retired as a Sergeant First Class after 20 years of service in the United States Army. Following his service career, he then worked for the Alvin C. York Veterans Hospital in Murfreesboro for another 20 years.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Tucker was preceded in death by a sister, Mary Ann Tucker, and brothers, Gordon Tucker, Tom Tucker and Jack Tucker.
Mr. Tucker is survived by brothers, Arthur "Sal" Tucker of Eagleville, Robert (Evelyn) Tucker of Lewisburg, and Roy "Pete" (Margaret) Tucker of Eagleville; sister, Jane (Amos) Gruber of Murfreesboro; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, July 13, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m., Thursday, July 14, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Gilbert and Rev. Bob Bush officiating. Burial with military honors will immediately follow in Swanson Cemetery, Chapel Hill.
Tom Tucker, Sherman Smith, Brian Gruber, Terry Tucker, Tony Tucker, Mark Harris, Wayne Tucker, and Curtis Tucker will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Caris Hospice, 242 Heritage Park Drive, Suite 102, Murfreesboro, TN 37129.
The family of Mr. Tucker would like to give a special thanks to the staff and doctors of AdamsPlace, Murfreesboro, for the love and care shown to Mr. Tucker and his family.
