Marshall County 14 year-old all-star shortstop Lane Whitesell throws out a runner in Lawrenceburg last weekend at the District 8 Tournament. This week, Whitesell, manager Mike Tatum, and the rest of the 14-year-old stars will host the State Tournament, beginning Friday at the Jonathan D. Hollingsworth Field in Lewisburg.

The first tournament game features Giles County versus Fayetteville at 5:00 p.m., followed by the hosts taking on Manchester at 8:00.
Saturday's games begin at noon with the Franklin Raiders taking on Lebanon, followed by Lawrenceburg pitted against the Franklin Flyers.
The Giles County/Fayetteville winner will play Johnson City at 5:00 p.m. and the Marshall County/Manchester victor finishes the Saturday slate versus Cookeville at 8:00.
Loser's bracket games will be played Sunday, beginning at noon and on Monday both loser's and winner's brackets' contests will begin at 12:00 p.m.
Games will continue Tuesday with a state champion crowned on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.
