Horse show set for July 22
Marshall County Horseman's Association is hosting their 35th annual Walking Horse show. The event is slated for Friday, July 22, at the Marshall County Exposition Center on Robin Hood Road. The lineup will feature 33 classes of championship-quality horses, as well as classes for Country Pleasure in both the youth and adult categories. The youth country pleasure classes will have NO entry fees. Once again this year, the show has affiliated with Riders-Cup, an equestrian event sponsored by the Walking Horse Trainers Association and "The Walking Horse Report" that promotes the skill and recognition of professional riders through an annual point and bonus award system. RidersCup is distinguished from other equestrian sports leagues because it rewards the skill and professionalism of individual riders instead of the horses ridden. The event is also affiliated with the SHOW HIO.
Not only will you witness competition of some of the best horses in the industry, you will also be able to sample some of the best food around. The concession stands will feature grilled burgers, country ham sandwiches, hot dogs, nachos, and ice cream. If you want to sample some of those homemade pies, you better be there early!
Show time is 5:30 p.m. Children 12 and under are admitted free. A limited number of box seats are available. Contact Wayne Dean for additional information at 931-703-9547.
