SHELBYVILLE -- The president of the Ultimate Indoor Football League says he plans to visit Shelbyville to scout the city for an expansion franchise.
Andrew Haines told the Shelbyville Times-Gazette he likely will look at the town's Calsonic Arena as a location for league games.
It's an indoor facility on the Tennessee Walking Horse National Celebration grounds and is used for various equine and other events year-round.
The league has teams in Canton, Ohio; Pikeville, Ky.; Fort Myers, Fla.; Huntington, W.Va.; Johnstown, Pa.; Rome, Ga., and Saginaw, Mich.
The paper said a proposal is being prepared to rent the arena for games in 2012.
