Gene Douglas McLean, 83, of Lewisburg, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at his residence.
Mr. McLean was a native of Marshall County, and son of the late Watson Douglas and Mary McCrory McLean. He was a 1945 graduate of Cornersville High School, a member of the Merchant Marine from 1945 to 1948, and a retired crane operator with Union 324.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Dorlene Hambrick McLean in 1994, and two sons, Gary and Kerry McLean.
He is survived by his second wife, Ruth McLean of Lewisburg; two sons, Kenneth (Amy) McLean of Florida and Bobby Gene McLean of Michigan; sister, Nell (Wallace) Weaver of Friday Harbor, Wash.; two stepsons, Bill (Jamie) Maynard of Lewisburg and Marty Maynard of Arizona; stepdaughter, Anna (George) Childress of Lewisburg; four grandchildren and 12 stepgrandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Sunday, July 24, from the chapel of London Funeral Home. Mr. McLean's body was cremated following the service.
