Lawrence Edward Cantrell, 67, of Bell Buckle, died Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011, at Heritage Medical Center.
He was born June 5, 1944, in Lewisburg, to the late Lawrence Overton and Mary Frances Haskins Cantrell. He was a retired respiratory therapist, a former police officer, previously employed at Uniroyal, and a draftsman. He attended Bell Buckle Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Irene Cantrell of Bell Buckle; two sons, Chris Cantrell and his wife Sherry of Shelbyville and Tim Cantrell and his wife Rachael of Wartrace; a daughter, Lesia Burris and her husband Todd of Shelbyville; three brothers, Ray Cantrell and his wife Linda of Nashville, Larry Cantrell and his wife Wanda of Lewisburg, and Gary Cantrell and his wife Cindy of Belfast; a sister, Alyce Dean and her husband Sammy of Lewisburg; and five grandchildren, Cara Beth Cantrell, B.J. Cantrell, Michael Burris, David Cantrell, and Jessica Cantrell.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, until service time.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Bell Buckle Baptist Church with Reverend Tommy Dye officiating. Burial, with full military honors, will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg.
