Obituary: George W. Wood Jr.

George W. Wood Jr., 90, of Lewisburg, died Tuesday, Aug. 30, 2011, in NHC Lewisburg Healthcare.

Mr. Wood was a native of Marshall County, and son of the late George W. Wood Sr. and Frances Bigham Wood. He was retired from Faber Castell Corporation and was a member of the Farmington Church of Christ.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Elizabeth Whitehead Wood of Lewisburg; two daughters, Ann (Larry) Hastings of Lewisburg and Wanda (Tommy) George of Madison; and one son, Eddie (Felicia) Wood of La Vergne; five grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Friday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour for visitation.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 2, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Cochran Cemetery.
