Shelter Dogs available for adoption

Wednesday, September 7, 2011

The following dogs are available for adoption through the Lewisburg Animal Shelter. We have a short week this week due to the shelter being closed for Labor Day, so we need to find homes for these dogs as soon as possible. All of these dogs have a date for euthanization, the first six are scheduled for this Thursday morning.

Bandit - Male brindle and white pit mix. Very good-looking dog.

Tiki - Black and white medium sized adult female pit mix. This smart girl is very well mannered and does tricks. She is fully sponsored to a good home.

Hobby - Young, large Lab mix. This fellow is jet black with a white chest streak. Will be a great companion dog for a family.

Sparky - Bull terrier mix puppy. Black and white like the RCA dog. A real cutie.

Sissy - Young, white with black American bulldog mix. She's a real looker.

Funny Face - Young female pit/terrier mix. Nice rust color with expressive eyes.

Homer - Young male. Very striking dog. Looks like he could have some Kelpie, Koolie or Belgian in him. Long, narrow snout and high-set ears. Unusual chocolate brown color with white appointments. _

Sheena - Young female black Lab mix. She really wants attention and to be petted. Will make a wonderful family dog.

Al - Young terrier mix. A real cutie. Brown and white and very sweet temperament.

Postmaster - Handsome young male. Brown and white, medium size and loves attention.

Litter of adorable pups. Seven possible hound or terrier mixes. We have all colors. These need to be out of the shelter as soon as possible to minimize their exposure to germs.

There are many other wonderful companions at the shelter, as well. This list may change as dogs are adopted or rescued. Contact the shelter immediately if you're interested in one of these dogs or if you know someone who is missing one of these dogs.

The adoption fee is $71, which covers the dog's first vaccinations and their spay or neuter at a local veterinarian.

You may see the current adoptable dogs on the Lewisburg Animal Shelter Facebook page or the shelter's website at www.lewisburganimalshelter.com . The shelter is located at 300 Woodside Drive, Lewisburg, TN. Telephone 359-5948.

Remember - if you've lost a dog, please check the shelter immediately. They can't keep a dog for a long time, so your dog may be euthanized if you wait too long.
