Obituary: John Thomas Thompson

John Thomas Thompson, 67, of Lewisburg, formerly of Clarksville, died Wednesday, Sept. 7, 2011, at Baptist Hospital.

Mr. Thompson was a native of Louisville, Ky., and the son of the late Stanley and Mary Sue Cummings Thompson. He was retired from the Trane Company in Clarksville and was a member of the Church Street Church of Christ.

He is survived by two daughters, Gwen Vess of Athens, Ala. and Laura Harris of Paducah, Ky.; one sister, Gayle Hardison of Wilmington, N.C.; and three grandchildren.

The family will be at London Funeral Home from 3 until 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 9, and on Saturday until the funeral hour.

Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 10, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.
