Sarah Alice Brown Barnes, 87, of Lewisburg, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at NHC Lewisburg.
She was a native of Maury County, the daughter of the late Walter E. and Sarah Sue Loftin Pruett. She was a retired bookkeeper for Pickens Pontiac and a member of Westvue Church of Christ for 68 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by first husband, Robert Lee Brown; her second husband, Allen Barnes; son, Bobby Brown; and sisters, Fay McCandless and Ruth Moser.
She is survived by a daughter, Jane Brown Garvin of Lewisburg; daughter-in-law, Ann Wiles Brown of Lewisburg; four granddaughters, Lee Ann Lewis, Lindsay Brown, and Beth (Scotty) Stanford, all of Lewisburg, and Lisa Garvin (Jeff) Todd of Tullahoma; and three nephews, Pat McCandless and Charles VanHooser, both of Lewisburg, and Jack VanHooser of Nashville. Five great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 1, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Welch Cemetery.
London Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
