William Frederick Smallwood, 38, of Petersburg, passed away Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, at his residence.
A native of Portsmouth, Va., he was the son of Frederick Kohler Smallwood of Picayune, Miss. and Kathleen Smallwood of Blythe, Calif. He was a computer programmer with Computer Science Corp. and a member of St. John Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Pounds Smallwood of Petersburg; his parents, Frederick Smallwood and Kathleen Smallwood; two sons, William Kohler and Richard Edwin Smallwood, and one daughter, Jillian Maria Smallwood, all of Petersburg; one sister, Rebecca Garside of New Orleans, La.; two brothers, Michael Smallwood of New York, N.Y. and Michael Swanberg of Birmingham, Ala.; and one niece, Clodomir Garside, and one nephew, Ignatius Garside, both of New Orleans, La.
Mr. Smallwood will be cremated and a Funeral Mass is scheduled at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at St. John Catholic Church with Father Bill Kelly officiating. A Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the church.
