Hershel Blackwell Jr., 81, of the Yell Community, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, at NHC-Oakwood.
A native of Marshall County, he was the son of the late Maggie Dunnivant Blackwell and Hershel Blackwell Sr. He was a retired employee of International Comfort Products in Lewisburg and was a veteran of the Korean War having served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Edward Blackwell, preceded him in death.
Survivors include one daughter, Melissa Ring of Lewisburg; one son, Kenneth Blackwell of Lewisburg; three sisters, Vergie Parks, Coreen Collins and Mazie Taylor all of Lewisburg; two grandchildren, Laura Blackwell and Jason Ring; and one great-grandchild, Leina Elizabeth Ring. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services for Mr. Blackwell were conducted Thursday, Nov. 3, from the chapel of Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home with Thomas B. Sumners officiating. Burial followed in Lone Oak Cemetery with military honors.
