Bridgeforth blows out CMS Bulldogs

On Thursday night, the Cornersville Middle School Bulldogs suffered their most lopsided loss of the season when they were defeated 53-5 at home by an athletic Bridgeforth Bobcat squad.

Bridgeforth dominated from start to finish and built a 29-5 lead in the first half before outscoring CMS 24-0 over the final two quarters to roll to the 48-point victory.

Aided by 30 Bulldog turnovers, the Bobcats finished with a 22-2 edge in field goals and a 7-0 advantage in three-pointers while attempting 45 more shots (62-17). Bridgeforth also outrebounded Cornersville 31-9, held a commanding 23-2 edge on the offensive glass, and committed just six turnovers.

Reserves Kobe Bledsoe and Jordan Tucker paced the Bobcats with 11 and nine points respectively, while Hayden Miller and Marcus Cawthorne each added seven points. Jordan Gilbert also tallied seven points for Bridgeforth and Nathan Harvel, Tyrique Smith, Josey Green, and Aspen Bush chipped in four, three, two, and one point respectively.

Dayveontae Brown and Ben Proctor both scored two points for the Bulldogs, while Dillard Hatchett had one point.
