From staff reports

Less than a half hour before the Cash Express on Nashville Highway was to open Wednesday morning, a blue Pontiac Montana crashed through the front glass door and picture windows, Lewisburg Police said.

There was no personal injury or citation issued as a result of the accident. Mary Sheffield of Chapel Hill "was trying to park," Officer Clyde Ragsdale said. "Her foot slipped off the brake and hit the accelerator."

There have been similar accidents. Years ago, someone drove across the sidewalk on Commerce Street and into the Marshall County Courthouse Annex. More recently, an exterior wall at Maple Grove Apartments was struck by a vehicle.
