Michael Aaron Polk, 9, of the Holts Corner Community, died Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011. Michael was a native of Marshall County and was a son of Charlotte Ailene Blacksher Eatherly and the late Terry Wayne Polk. He was a member of the 3rd grade class at Chapel Hill Elementary School, and loved to ride his motorcycle.
In addition to his father, Michael was also preceded in death by his grandmother, Wanda Gayle Kelley Shirley, and his grandfather, Randall Blacksher.
Survivors include his mother, Charlotte Ailene Blacksher Eatherly of Holts Corner; brothers, William Gunner Polk of Holts Corner, James Hunter Polk of Holts Corner, Terry Wayne Polk Jr. of Rutherford County; sisters, Lisa Beard of Lewisburg and Shannon Hoffman of Eagleville; and grandfather, Morris Shirley of the Farmington Community.
Family members will receive friends on Thursday, Dec. 22, beginning at 4 p.m. at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Memorial services for Michael, along with his grandmother, Wanda Shirley, will be conducted at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 23, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Frank Edwards and Dean Delk officiating. Burial will follow in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
