Kerry Winchester, 51, passed away on Thursday, Jan. 12, 2012, at Maury Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.
Kerry was born Nov. 1, 1960, in Columbia, to James H. Winchester of Columbia and Dorothy Wise Winchester, also of Columbia. He played high school football in Chapel Hill where he graduated. After high school graduation, Kerry served in the U.S. Army for two years. He was an avid reader and loved all different types of guns. He worked for PSC Fabricating and was affiliated with the Church of Christ.
In addition to his parents, Kerry is survived by two brothers, Randy (Laurie) Winchester and Troy Winchester, both of Mt. Pleasant; and a sister, Lisa Hamlin of Columbia; nieces and nephews, Tara Rowe, Chelsea Hamlin, Chase Hamlin, Melody Winchester, Jim Winchester, and Amanda Winchester; along with one great-niece, Rayne Rowe.
Williams Funeral Home in Columbia assisted the family with arrangements.
