Ruby Jean Harris, 71, of Unionville, died Saturday, Jan. 14, 2012, in Shelbyville.
Miss Harris was born in Bedford County and was a daughter of the late Bryant Reed and Nannie Martha Haskins Harris. She was a graduate of Forrest High School in Chapel Hill and a very active member of Clay Hill United Methodist Church. Miss Harris retired from Henry Horton State Park when she worked both in the park restaurant and the golf course snack bar.
In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a brother, Jimmy Lee Harris.
Miss Harris is survived by sisters, Martha Skinner, Betty Harris and Elaine Swan, all of Unionville; a brother, Reed Harris of Unionville; nieces, Erika Swan of Unionville, Cassie Hill of Shelbyville, and Ginger Burrow of Cornersville; and a nephew, Bryant Galbreath of Unionville.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Jan. 17, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Courtelis officiating. Burial followed in Clay Hill Cemetery in the Clay Hill Community of Marshall County.
