Glyndon Alberta Askins Shaw, 91, of Martin, Tenn., formerly of Lewisburg, died Saturday, Jan. 21, 2012, in Martin Health Care.

Mrs. Shaw was a native of Lincoln County, and daughter of the late Albert Greenfield and Annie Ashby Askins. She was a licensed practical nurse employed by Leonard's Hospital for 22 years, retiring from nursing in 1983. She later became a Wal-Mart associate. She was a member of Shiloh United Methodist Church for 64 years where she served as church treasurer for several of those years.

She married Horace Shaw Jr. in 1944 and they made their home in Lewisburg.

Mr. Shaw died in 1991 and Mrs. Shaw continued to live in Lewisburg until 2006 when she relocated to Martin, Tenn. to reside with her daughter, Barbara, and son-in-law Russell Norris.

In addition to her daughter and son-in-law, she is survived by three grandchildren, Steven Russell Norris, Stephany Norris Robinson, and James Scott (Tabitha) Norris, and seven great-grandchildren, all of Martin; one sister, Marjorie (George) Hoeflein of Chesapeake, Va.; five nieces; and five nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 25, from the chapel of London Funeral Home with burial to follow in Lone Oak Cemetery.

The family will be at London Funeral Home Wednesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour at 1 p.m. for visitation.
