Omar A. Boyce, 56, of the Wheel Community, passed early Wednesday morning, Feb. 1, 2012, at Alive Hospice of St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville after an extended illness.
A native of Bedford County, Mr. Boyce was a farrier by trade and was a member of Victory Baptist Church. He was the son of the late Hershel Byron Boyce who passed in 1973 and Myrtle Perryman Boyce who passed in 2006.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers Coy Boyce, 1974, and Doris Wayne Boyce, 2011.
He is survived by his sons, Keith Boyce and Justin (Brittany) Boyce of Lewisburg; granddaughter, Lilli Ann Boyce; and siblings, Randall (Janet) Boyce, Melba (Kenneth) Carr, Kay (Lee) Adcock and Betty (Jerry) Birdsong, all of Shelbyville.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 3, in the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Brother Todd Peoples officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Lebanon Cemetery in the Wheel Community.
