Employment assistance workshop set for Middle TN vets

Saturday, February 4, 2012

Realization of skills and effective job search strategies are what a federal defense department program is to provide during workshops Feb. 14-16 in a Tennessee Air National Guard building near Nashville International Airport.

The Middle Tennessee Employment Assistance Workshop is for National Guard members, reservists, veterans, and spouses, Tennessee Adjutant General Maj. Gen. Max Haston announced recently. There is no charge for the participants.

Workshops are at the Guard's 118th Air Wing Headquarters in Nashville, 240 Knapp Blvd., Building 801.

The program focuses on: analyzing skills veterans have gained through the military; teaching effective job search strategies; writing resumes/cover letters; and mock interviews. It's not limited to those who are unemployed. It's open to those who feel underemployed.

Seats are limited so it's first come, first served. For pre-registration, contact Joe Thomas at (615) 313-0752 or at joseph.c.thomas2@us.army.mil.
