Steven Roy Snell

Steven Roy Snell, 58, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday, Feb. 11, 2012, in Auburntown, Tenn. following a lengthy illness.

Mr. Snell was born in Denver, Colo. and was a truck driver. He served in the United States Air Force during the Desert Storm campaign. Steven was a true man of God, a fabulous husband and a wonderful son and father.

He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Henry Snell.

Mr. Snell is survived by his wife, Christy Proffitt Snell of Chapel Hill; daughters, Jennifer "Jen" Collins of Alaska, Amanda Gantz of Illinois, Nicky Page of Idaho, Tasha Snell of Washington State, Elaura Proffitt of Chapel Hill, and Livie Smith of Chapel Hill; mother, Norma Snell, sister, Shirley Carter, and brother, Wayne Snell, all of Illinois; and four grandchildren.

There will be no visitation or memorial services at this time.
