A native of Marshall County, she was the daughter of the late Mary Hale Hoffman and William Calvin Hooten. She was retired from Kmart department stores and was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband, Ronald Ray of Mobile, Ala.; five sons, Daniel (Teri) Griffy of San Jose, Calif., Robert (Candice) Stout of Mobile, Ala., Barry (Dawn) Ray of Clarksville, Daniel (Ana) Ray of Mobile, Ala., and Franklin (Donna) Ray of Birmingham, Ala.; three daughters: Julie (David) McAnnally of Ashville, Ala., Lisa (Dale) Lynch of Mobile, Ala., and Victoria (John) Larrance of Cayuga, Ind.; and 23 grandchildren. Five great-grandchildren and two special friends, Ann (Dan) Ingram and Windi Wayne, also survive.
Graveside services for Mrs. Ray will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Reed Cemetery on Verona-Caney Road.
Visitation with the family will be from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at Bills-McGaugh Funeral Home.
