Mary White, 87, of Chapel Hill, died on Saturday, Feb. 25, 2012, in Knoxville.
Mrs. White was born in Marshall County, and was a daughter of the late John and Bessie White. She was a member of the Chapel Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church and involved in the VFW Auxiliary, the American Legion, and the Chapel Hill Business and Professional Women's Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elvin White; sister, Martha Spencer; and brother, Bill White.
Mrs. White is survived by her daughters, Joy (Kenny) Sweeney of Chapel Hill and Janet (Robbie) Franklin of Knoxville; grandchildren, John Sweeney of LaVergne, Robin (Reid) Beebe of Knoxville, Wendy (Adam) Kuhn of Knoxville, and Kelly (John) Tate of Maryville; and great-grandchildren, Mason, Franklin, Weston, Braden, Godwin, Colby, Caleb, Camden, Zach, Eli, Sam, and Wes; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation with the family will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at the Chapel Hill Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Saturday at the church with Reid Beebe officiating.
Private burial services will be at Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
John Sweeney, John Tate, Adam Kuhn, Reid Beebe, Bill White, and Robbie Franklin will serve as pallbearers.
