Kenneth Clarence "Ken" Couch, 71, of Unionville, passed away at his home on Sunday, March 18, 2012.
Kenneth was born April 3, 1940, at McNeal Memorial Hospital in Berwyn, Ill. He graduated from Morton High School in Cicero, Ill. and was a 51-year resident of Lyons.
While a resident, Ken was employed with the Village of Lyons for 33 years. He was a certified water operator and served the village in the water and street departments. Ken retired from the village as Superintendent of Public Works. He also served the Village of Lyons in the police department and in the fire department, from which he also retired.
Kenneth served his country honorably in the Army. He was a member of the American Legion and the Lions Club of Lyons, Ill.
After retiring from the Village of Lyons, Ken moved to Tennessee. While living in Tennessee, he farmed and worked for the City of Shelbyville Public Works.
He was preceded in death by one son, Timothy Couch of Unionville.
Kenneth is survived by his loving wife, Sally Teeter Couch of Unionville; two sons, William (Amanda) Couch of Shelbyville and Bryan Couch of Crivitz, Wis.; and one daughter, Jennifer (James) Couch-Wendt of St. Germain, Wis.
Funeral services were held at Gowen-Smith Chapel on Wednesday, March 21.
