After a disappointing loss to Huntland last Thursday, the Forrest Lady Rockets got back to business at the Field of Dreams in Chapel Hill Tuesday night versus Spring Hill, coming away with a 7-5 win.

Freshman Katie Warrick's fifth homerun of the season, a towering grand slam in the bottom of the fourth inning turned out to be the difference in the ballgame for Forrest.

Brooke Herron started in the circle for the Lady Rockets and went six innings to pick up the win, giving up three runs (one earned) on five hits, while striking out six, walking one, and hitting one Spring Hill batter.

Forrest senior centerfielder Ciara Cook (00) lays down a bunt before beating the throw to first base as Forrest opened up with two runs in the first inning and never surrendered the lead in a 7-5 win over Spring Hill Tuesday in Chapel Hill.

Herron tossed a scoreless first inning before the Lady Rockets put up two runs in the bottom of the inning as Sara Jordan led off with a walk and Ciara Cook and Warrick followed with infield singles to load the bases.

Adrean Jordan slammed an RBI single to center that scored sister Sara and Cook trotted home on an infield error before Spring Hill starter Chandler Martin escaped any further damage with a 1-2 force play at home and an inning ending double play on a pop-up to third base.

Herron held the Lady Raiders in check in the second, striking out two batters in the inning.

Kiyoko Puca walked, leading off the home half of the second and went to second on a Briar Mays infield grounder.

Puca stole third base and scored one batter later on an RBI base knock by Cook to make it three-zip.

There was no scoring in the third inning, and in the top of the fourth, Spring Hill rallied with two outs on back-to-back base hits by Martin and Alexis Harper.

Angelina Martinez drilled a shot off the left field fence to score Martin and Harper came home on a wild pitch before Herron got a strikeout to end the inning with the Lady Rockets up by one run at 3-2.

Puca drew another leadoff walk in the bottom of the inning and Mays followed with a base on balls.

Sara Jordan loaded the sacks with a base hit before Martin got a 5-2 force at home for the first out.

Warrick came up to bat and bashed a rain-maker over the centerfield fence that sent all the runners home to give Forrest a 7-2 lead.

Herron got out of a two-on, two-out jam in the fifth on a pair of fly balls to Savannah Brothers in right field, followed by a running catch near the fence in center by Cook to end the frame.

In the top of the sixth, Spring Hill pushed across an unearned run in Herron's last inning in the circle to make it 7-3.

Warrick came to the circle in the seventh and walked Sydney Sanders to start the inning.

Bre Pavy hit a grounder back to the circle for the first out before Warrick beaned Lauren Caperton and an infield error on Forrest loaded the bases full of Lady Raiders.

Martin delivered a two-run single down the left field line before Warrick got a grounder to short for out number two and pop-up to Courtney Hollandsworth at second base ended the game.

The Lady Rockets managed just six hits in the game with Warrick going 2-4 (4 RBIs), Sara Jordan scored twice as she went 1-3 with a base on balls, Cook also scored two runs on one hit, drove home one, and drew a walk, Adrean Jordan crossed home once, had one hit in four at bats and knocked in one runner, Puca walked twice in three at bats, scored a run and stole a base, and Mays also scored a run and walked once in three trips to the dish.
