Horace E. "Baby" Lamb, 76, of Chapel Hill, died Saturday evening, April 7, 2012, at his home in Chapel Hill.
Mr. Lamb was born in Marshall County and was a son of the late Scott and Alice Wilson Lamb. He was a member of the Chapel Hill United Methodist Church and was a former member of the Chapel Hill Lions Club. Mr. Lamb was a lifelong farmer and truck driver, working at AVCO Inc. in Nashville, and retired from Heil-Quaker Corporation of Lewisburg.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Lamb was preceded in death by a great-grandson, Jackson Bright Lamb; brother, William Lamb; and a sister, Sarah Wiley.
Mr. Lamb is survived by his wife, Glenda Frost Lamb of Chapel Hill; daughters, Cheryl Brock of Lewisburg and Susan Wild of Chapel Hill; son, Kenneth R. Lamb of Chapel Hill; sisters, Margaret Tucker of Eagleville and Grace Ford of Smyrna; brothers, James Lamb of the Holts Corner Community and Ralph Lamb of Chapel Hill; grandchildren, Michael Lamb, Sara Sweeney, Patrick Lamb, Amanda Chilton, Taylor Brock, Brooks Lamb, Layne Newcomb, and Kaley Newcomb; and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 10, from the chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Michael Lamb officiating. Burial followed in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill.
Patrick Lamb, Brooks Lamb, Layne Newcomb, Billy Lamb, Wayne Tucker and Troy Frost served as pallbearers.
