LAWRENCEBURG, Tenn. - The Goodwill here is planning a job fair on Tuesday with seven employers looking for workers.
"When the county unemployment numbers were released two weeks ago, Lawrence County was one of only 10 counties where the jobless rate increased," said Jamie Berry, spokesman for Goodwill Industries of Middle Tennessee.
"Goodwill Career Solutions is hoping to help change that," Berry said of the Career Solutions office in Lawrenceburg that's substantially the same service that's available at The Acres shopping plaza in Lewisburg.
"Goodwill has found several companies in Lawrence County looking to hire," Berry said. "To help connect these companies with qualified job candidates, Goodwill Career Solutions in Lawrenceburg (1604 N. Locust Ave.) will host a job fair on Tuesday, April 24 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
"GameStop, Burke's Outlet, Bertolini Inc., CJ Industries, Randstad, Rapid Care and Tennessee's Career Coach will be on site to meet with job seekers," Berry said. "Openings include health care, hospitality, retail, warehousing, production and customer service positions."
Job candidates are encouraged to bring resumes, a photo identification card, a Social Security card or birth certificate.
"Also, dress for success," Berry said. "Most of the companies will be conducting on site interviews."
