Sara Jordan led off the ballgame with a shot into the wind to right field that went all the way to the fence, allowing the sophomore to circle the bases with an inside-the-park homerun.
Jessica Harmon reached on an infield error by the Lady Raiders and Adrean Jordan followed with double to windy right field, putting Lady Rockets runners on second and third.
Alli Bennett, who had come in as a courtesy runner for Herron scored on a Courtney Hollandsworth ground ball to make it 4-0 before Kiyoko Puca walked and ended up on third after two more passed balls.
Puca trotted home on an RBI triple to the fence in left by Savannah Brothers and Brothers scored on an another Spring Hill error, making it 6-0.
Herron got out of a two-on, two-out jam in the first with an inning ending strikeout and Forrest scored an unearned in the second as Harmon led off the frame with a walk and scored two batters later on a passed ball with Herron at the dish.
Spring Hill finally got some offense going in the bottom of the inning, scoring two runs on RBI hits by Breanna Pavy and Kristen Pemberton before the inning ended on a nice catch in center field by Cook.
Mandi Conley, Brothers, Ciara Cook, and Sara Jordan drew consecutive bases on balls to begin the third inning, making it an 8-2 contest before Herron shutdown the Lady Raiders in the home half of the frame.
Forrest produced run number nine in the fourth with a Conley one-out single, a Brothers double and wild pitch on ball four to Cook.
In the bottom of the inning, Sara Jordan, stymied the Spring Hill batters.
The fifth inning would be the only frame the Lady Rockets would not score and the swapping in the circle for Forrest continued as Herron did not allow a run in the bottom of the stanza.
The Lady Rockets put the Lady Raiders away in the top of the sixth, scoring five runs on three hits, three walks, a hit batsman, and another Spring Hill passed ball.
The big blow in the frame was a three-run, bases loaded double by Adrean Jordan, a Herron RBI single, and a Harmon bases loaded free pass.
Forrest took the 14-2 lead to the bottom of the sixth where Spring Hill scored two runs, but the game ended on a ground ball back to Sara Jordan in the circle.
Adrean Jordan led the Forrest offensive surge with a 3-4 game (one stolen base, three RBIs, two runs scored), Herron also had a big day at the dish, going 3-4 (two RBIs, base on balls), Brothers continued her hot hitting with a 2-3 game, including a walk, and two runs scored, while Conley had one hit in four at bats, but walked twice and scored three runs.
Cook managed one hit in four at bats, but drew two bases on balls, stole two bases and scored once, while Sara Jordan hit the inside-the-park HR, walked three times, knocked in two and scored a run.
Harmon scored two runs and walked once and Puca and Hollandsworth each walked once and crossed home plate one time.
