Mr. McClure was a native of Blue Mountain, Miss., and son of the late Leslie Loyd and Christine Goudy McClure. He retired from Heil-Quaker in 1977 and served as a fireman with Five Points Volunteer Fire Department for 22 years. He retired in February 2012 as Chief of the Fire Department. He was a member of CERT and worked with EMA for several years. He was a member of the Medium United Methodist Church and served as a lay speaker.
He is survived by his wife, Glynis McClure of the Delina Community; daughter, Trina (Mike) Hardrick of Lewisburg; two sons, Wendell (Donna) McClure and Ricky McClure, both of the Delina Community; four grandsons, Dustin, Ryan, Ethan and Tyler McClure; four granddaughters, Hannah McClure, Alexis, Eliana and Olivia Hardrick; one sister, Rebecca Hill of Chapel Hill; and three nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 26, from the chapel of Cornersville Funeral Home with burial to follow in the Medium
Cemetery at Delina.
The family will be at Cornersville Funeral Home from 4 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, for visitation.
