Claude Mason Carroll Sr., 90, of Shelbyville, passed away Saturday night, April 21, 2012, at Alive Hospice at St. Thomas in Nashville.
A native of Franklin County, he was son of the late Roscoe Thomas Carroll and Annie Lucas Carroll. Mr. Carroll was retired from Uniroyal after 42 years of service. He served in the United States Army during World War II in Europe, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
He was preceded in death by five brothers and four sisters.
Mr. Carroll is survived by his wife of 65 years, Emogene Moon Carroll; sons, Ron (Nancy) Carroll of Hampton Cove, Ala., Mason (Denise) Carroll of Parkland, Fla., and Roger (Jennie) Carroll of Lewisburg; sister; Anne Carroll Joyce of Seffner, Fla.; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Funeral services for Mr. Carroll will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, April 25, from the chapel of Doak-Howell Funeral Home with Reverend Loyd Doyle officiating. Burial will follow in the Willow Mount Cemetery with Military Honors.
At the family's request, in lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to First United Methodist Church Memorial Fund.
