Chapel Hill Elementary School, Forrest High School and First State Bank, raised over $2,000 during their "Spare Change for Special Olympics" fundraiser.

The CHES classroom winner was Monica Sandrell's class, which raised $93.95. They received $25 and a pizza party as a reward. The classroom winners at FHS were the homeroom classes of Sheila Edde ($160.67) and Shawna Bourne ($155.39). Each class received $25 as a reward.

Along with raising money, CHES and FHS students helped participants compete in a variety of activities, including the softball throw, and track, at the Marshall County Special Olympics on Friday, May 4. The Rocketeer School Bank Junior Board of Directors presented Sandra Holly with the check at the Special Olympics ceremonies.

First State Bank, a division of the Farmers Bank, Lynchburg, and the Rocketeer School Bank Junior Board of Directors would like to thank everyone who gave and helped raise money for this very special event.
