RC-Moon Pie celebrated
The Bell Buckle Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the 18th annual RC-Moon Pie Festival on Saturday, June 16, in downtown Bell Buckle, Tennessee. This event has been rated a Top 20 Event by the Southeastern Tourism Society. The Festival will begin with over 900 runners taking part in the 17th Annual RC Moon Pie 10-mile run at 7 a.m. This certified, grueling course is both a challenge and delight for runners ranging in age from 6 to over 70.
There will be food vendors offering Southern fare such as Tennessee smoked barbeque, hand-squeezed lemonade and deep-fried Moon Pies. The RC-Moon Pie Parade will wind through the historic village of Bell Buckle with Mister RC and Miss Moon Pie leading the way. Following closely will be the crowning of the King, David Frizzell, brother of the late Lefty Frizzell, and crowning of the Queen of the Festival , Jett Williams, daughter of the late great Hank Williams. The King and Queen are proud supporters of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (M.A.D.D). M.A.D.D. will have exhibits and information available.
Throughout the day will be a karaoke contest with Dewayne Haynes, Twisted Southern Sounds. Registration for the karaoke contest will begin at 10:30 a.m. There will be 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place winners. Also, corn hole tournaments presented by Entersource will be taking place all day. Our always-popular Moon Pie games include hog calling, Moon Pie toss, RC dash and Moon Pie hoops. Fabulous craft fair and food vendors will be open all day.
The perfect ending to the day is the cutting of the World's Largest Moon Pie - free dessert for all!
