Stanley Karpinski, 85, of Chapel Hill, died Wednesday, June 20, 2012, in Lewisburg.
Mr. Karpinski was born in Oriskany Falls, N.Y. and was a son of the late Andrew John and Mary Bobo Karpinski. He was retired from General Motors Corporation after 27 years of service. Stanley was a member of the Catholic Church and served as a volunteer policeman. He was a member of the Lions Club, and an organizer and member of the UAW Retirees Group.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Nellie Karpinski Waterman, and brothers, Peter Karpinski and Paul Karpinski.
Survivors include his wife, Dawn Karpinski of Chapel Hill; two daughters, Donna John of Spencerport, N.Y. and Betty Hallett of Chapel Hill; one son, Andy Karpinski of Chapel Hill; and one sister, Julia Brown of Saquiot, N.Y.
Ten grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation with the family will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Saturday, June 23, at Lawrence Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday, June 24, from the Chapel of Lawrence Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Wiggins officiating. Interment will be in Swanson Cemetery in Chapel Hill. Family members will serve as pallbearers.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to any heart association or cancer association of your choice.
