Peggy Anne Mitchell Clarkson

Peggy Anne Mitchell Clarkson, 61, former resident of Mooresville and Franklin, and widow of Charles W. "Chuck" Clarkson, who died May 4, 2012, died Sunday, June 24, 2012, at her residence in Dickson.

The Lincoln County native was the daughter of the late Dalton Mitchell and Arnell Collins Mitchell and was a graduate of Cornersville High School. While her daughter was attending Culleoka Schools she was active in PTO and the Boosters Club. Mrs. Clarkson was a former employee of Mid-South Insurance Co. of Columbia and Chapell-Smith Insurance Co. of Franklin. She was a member of the Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack Mitchell and Jerry Mitchell.

Survivors include her daughter, Jennifer Thrasher (Greg) Hudgins of Centerville; grandchildren, Rachel Hudgins and Sidney Hudgins, both of Centerville; brother, Jimmy (Patricia) Mitchell of Cornersville; mother-in-law, Allene Clarkson; stepchildren, Charlie (Rhonda) Clarkson of Franklin, Andy (Janet) Clarkson of Shelbyville, and Allison (Nathan) Neal of Franklin; stepgrandchildren, Chandler Clarkson, Kendall Clarkson, Kennedy Clarkson, Holston Neal, and Hollis Neal; uncle, Spencer (Beth Ann) Mitchell of Cornersville; aunt, Inez Mitchell of Tony, Ala.; several nieces and nephews; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.

The family will visit with friends from 3 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 27, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, Columbia.

Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 28, at the funeral home, with Rev. Paul Lucas officiating.

A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, June 28, at Malone Cemetery in Ardmore.
