The Marshall County 12U boys All-Stars traveled to Giles County last weekend and posted a 4-1 record to claim the District title. Marshall County's only loss came in a close 2-0 ballgame in game two versus Maury County. The MCYBSL All-Stars beat the hosts 11-2 in game one and again in game three 7-4 before sweeping away Maury County 13-5 and 14-4 to take away the hardware and earn a berth in the state tournament, beginning July13 at Jim Warren Park in Franklin. Nathan Derryberry picked up three wins on the mound and Jacob Autry was credited with the other victory for the All-Stars. In the third inning of game five, Hunter Beckman, Knox Barnes, and Kamron Liggett belted back-to-back-to-back homers to spark the squad to the 10-run win. Liggett also had a dinger in game one, Derryberry blasted a home run in game four and Chase Karaczewski smashed grand slam homers in game one and game four. Photo submitted
