Zack Gordon went the distance on the mound to pick up the win for MMC, giving up just one hit, while striking out three, walking three and hitting two IMI batters.
Gordon also had a big night at the plate in a 2-3 performance with two RBIs and one run scored.
MMC banged out twelve hits in the contest as 14-year old MVP Ethan Poteete showed why he earned the post-season award with a huge night at the dish, going 2-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored.
Poteete banged an inside-the-park homerun in the eight-run third inning for MMC, marking just the fourth round tripper in Marshall County Babe Ruth League action this season.
Nichirin's Jay Howard (inside-the-park) and the Farm Center of Chapel Hill's Tanner Garvin and Blake Leonard recorded the other three home runs.
IMI tallied its lone run off of Gordon in the bottom of the third when Brayden Gentry knocked in Chaz Underwood, who had walked.
Peyton Hood did heavy damage at the dish for MMC with a perfect 3-3 game and two runs scored, while Connor Bush reached base all three times up on walks, stole three bases, and crossed home plate on each occasion.
Trent Richardson went 1-3 with two RBIs and scored twice and Austin Ring rounded out the MMC offense with one hit in three at bats and scored once.
