Mrs. Harris was born in Maury County on June 19, 1920, to Walter and Johnnie Derryberry Brown. She was a lifelong homemaker, devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a lover of family, friends, and flowers. Alma was a member of the Hickory Heights Church of Christ.
Alma was preceded in death by her husband, Lyndon Grady Harris in 1986; son, Danny Lyndon Harris in 2004; son-in-law, George Calvin Woodard in 1970; one sister; and four brothers.
She is survived by two daughters, Ruby (Jim) Thomas of Caney Springs and Ann (Don) Sullivan of Lewisburg; son, Jerry (Wanda) Harris of Hardison Mill; daughter-in-law, Darlene Harris of Lewisburg; nine grandchildren, Calvin (Beth) Woodard, Karla Woodard (Joel) Jobe, Cindy Woodard, Tracy (Sharon) Harris, Chris (LeAnn) Harris, Adrienne Sullivan (David) Maxson, Adam (Lauren) Sullivan, Ashley Harris (Jeremy) Rodgers, and Megan Harris; 16 great-grandchildren, Hannah Woodard, Ethan and Kendall Jobe, Lauren, Allison, Catherine and Caroline Harris, Matt, Michael, Jacob and Wesley Harris, Joshua, Anna, and Katie Maxson, and Andrew and Emily Sullivan; dear friend, Pam Johnson Isley; and several nephews and nieces. Seven stepgrandchildren, 11 stepgreat-grandchildren, and two stepgreat-great-grandchildren also survive.
Funeral services were conducted by David Maxson and Jim Thomas on Thursday, July 19, from the chapel of London Funeral Home, followed by burial in Bethlehem Cemetery.
